Getting great photo prints onto canvas is easy. Here are few tips to improve your results:
Keep the file in the RGB color mode from start to finish. Changing that mode to cmyk or other settings will cause your photo file to lose color information we need. Save your photo file as a JPG and choose either "high" or "maximum" as your image quality option when you save your file.
IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP: When changing the dpi setting in Photoshop’s "adjust image size" menu, be sure to have the RESAMPLE button unchecked.
If you happen to have the RESAMPLE button checked while increasing dpi bad things will happen. The resulting problems cannot be fixed later - so make sure that the RESAMPLE button is not checked.
As long as you keep your photo file in RGB, your Photoshop color profile should not have an effect on print quality (it matters much more if we were printing your file on a digital press in cmyk - but we use a top quality 9-color ink jet device).
If you'd like the image you see on your screen match the image we see on ours you can download our Photoshop profile file by clicking on the link here and then importing that into your Photoshop program.
If you'd like minor color correction and would prefer our graphic technicians do this, let us know and we'll make adjustments for skin tones or other issues.

If you are concerned about type or fine details of your photo print, one of our graphic artists can take a look at your file and can advise you of the best resolution.

Blossom's painting and stylizing treatments transform an excellent photograph into a one-of-a-kind piece of dramatic art. Sometimes called our "fantasia" process... our graphic designers will add several digital effects to your file which include paint-styled brush strokes, background modifications and custom digital "framing." When we are called on to provide this service our artists use traditional digital retouching techniques as well as the painting, background work and digital framing... and the results speak for themselves.
Please take a close look at the before and after samples here. If you would like this approach for your file, you can simply add it to your order for $50 when you upload your file and the artists will send you a PDF for inspection. If you are not satisfied with your PDF, let the artist know and we will modify the art. If you decide at any time you or your client are not satisfied with the outcome, your payment will be cheerfully refunded. This is an extremely cool process – with zero risk.
